Frequently Asked Questions about the V:EKN Clan Newsletters

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q) What Clan can I write for?
A) Currently, these clans are available:

All clans are currently claimed by someone, but many claimed newsletters seem to be dormant. If you are interested in writing a newsletter that you haven't seen published for a while, you can contact Peter D Bakija (pdb6@lightlink.com), but in reality, you'll probably have more success contacting the person who wrote the last appropriate newsletter, which you can probably find on The Lasombra's newsletter archive. Just drop the last author an e-mail and see if they either want submissions or are willing to pass off the newsletter. If they haven't published for a long time, but seem unwilling to give up the post (or you can't contact them), drop Peter Bakija a line, and he'll try to work things out.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q) Can I contribute to a Newsletter for a Clan already taken?
A) Yes, simply email the appropriate Editor with your material,
and it can be included in an appropriate issue.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q) Who is the current Newsletter Editor for my favorite Clan?
A) The following people have committed to editing Newsletters for their Clan. Please keep in mind that this list is *very* fluid, and is in all likelyhood completely incorrect. If you notice that someone else is listed as writing a newsletter that you have claimed, drop Peter Bakija a note, and he'll try to fix it. The worst case scenario, however, is that two people post the same newsletter for a while, which isn't really a bad thing...

Q) What content can be included in a V:EKN Clan Newsletter?
A) Just about anything on the topic of your clan or the game.
Some of the things that have been included in past Newsletters include:

Deck designs
Clan strategy
Discipline overviews
Library Card overviews
Crypt Card overviews
Vampire fiction

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q) What has to be included in a V:EKN Clan Newsletter?
A) You are free to write anything you want about your clan
of choice, as long as it is interesting and entertaining.
As official representatives of V:TES, however, you should
keep your Newsletters intelligent, on topic, and in support
of the official rules (i.e. no Newsletter tirades regarding
how you hate errata or how you think the game is best played
with a one card limit). Variant rules and ideas are fine,
but please keep in mind that you are a representitive of
the V:TES community as a whole.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q) How should I publish my Clan newsletter?
A) Post your Newsletters to the Usenet newsgroup
rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad. As the Clan Newsletters
are primarily a function of Usenet, please always post
your Newsletter on rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad (the
official V:TES newsgroup). Some folks post their newsletters on
personal web pages, and there are some unofficial web sites that
archive Clan Newsletters, but these are run and managed privately--
the VEKN takes no responsibility in archiving or posting Clan
Newsletters on the web.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q) How often should I publish a Clan Newsletter?
A) Once a month is recommended, during the first week
of the month. Any time will be fine, but if a Newsletter
goes into a remission of 3 months, new Editors will be solicited.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q) Who do I ask questions of about becoming a Newsletter Editor
or about my Newsletter before I publish it?
A) Direct questions about Clan reservations to Peter Bakija,
and you may also ask questions of him or of the other Newsletter
Editors if you want to clarify a rules situation or card combo
before publishing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q) Is there any sort of renumeration available as a Newsletter Editor?
A) Only the respect and admiration of your peers.
