Books Thru Bars of Ithaca receives and answers dozens of requests for books from prisoners every month. BtB addresses the needs of a rapidly growing prison population, which has little or no access to education and basic reading materials. In the last two years, BtB has mailed 4602 books to 1924 prisoners.

Please join Books Thru Bars of Ithaca. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities - sharing your ideas at meetings, helping with answering letters and mailing books, assisting with community outreach and fundraising, working on a bookdrive.

Books Thru Bars of Ithaca has an office on the second floor of the Autumn Leaves Book Store at 115 The Commons in Ithaca, NY. All are welcome to come there and wrap books to send to prisoners. No experience is necessary. Full instructions are provided. Come any time Autumn Leaves is open.
